Prior to the 1st August 1986 I had no clear idea as to what Christianity
was all about. Up till then my life had been pretty good. I had
a lovely wife, a comfortable home, a good job and money in the bank.
So what more could anyone want. Now I knew I wasn't perfect, but
then I wasn't too bad either. If there was a God up there somewhere
wasn't he supposed to be a God of love, so surely He would overlook
my 'little sins’? Therefore, I never went to Church except
for hatch, match and dispatch type of services.
Then my circumstances started to change dramatically. My wife became
increasingly debilitated by a painful back complaint and our life
was turned upside down. We spent years attending specialists, physiotherapists,
osteopaths, chiropractors and my wife had all of the various treatments
but with no improvement. During her low times, she would ask God
to help her, and I would say that's no good you have to help yourself.
Now since those dark days I have come to realise that God hears
all of our prayers and I know He certainly heard Heathers...more
